A man was taken into custody recently after leading Colorado police on a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 115 mph at times. The man, M.V., was driving a truck that belonged to a construction company in Texas. He was reported to police by several witnesses along the Interstate 70 that say they observed the truck passing on the shoulder, travelling at high speeds, nearly side-swiping several cars, etc. The truck also hit two cars causing one of them to rollover; the two passengers were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police chased M.V. in the truck for 75 miles before his vehicle finally gave out and would no longer operate due to damage sustained from the earlier collisions. Authorities discovered that the truck had not been reported stolen but the owner did not know it was missing. The owner did say M.V. was an employee of his. If you have been arrested in the Denver area then speak to a criminal defense attorney immediately to ensure your rights are fully protected.
Man Faces a Number of Charges Including DUI
M.V. was taken into custody and was described as appearing "angry and intoxicated" according to the Sheriff's Captain. Reports indicate that M.V. has a prior criminal record including DUI, domestic violence and felony criminal impersonation. He had been deported at one time and was now in the U.S. illegally. M.V. faces additional serious charges and penalties including up to 20 years in prison.
