Marijuana Dealers Raided in Harlem

Last November, a Harlem, New York marijuana drug dealing operation that had been going on for three years was busted by local police. The operation was conducted in the basement of an apartment building across from a park where children played. The bust occurred after six months of undercover work by police. The accused drug dealers sold marijuana seven days a week all day long; neighbors had complained about the endless customers showing up to buy the drugs.

When police searched the drug den, they found more than $35,000 worth of marijuana along with large sums of cash, guns, and two pit bulls and a boa constrictor used for security. A Narcotics division of the New York Police Department busted the two drug dealers running the operation by buying guns from them in an illegal transaction. They then bought more than six pounds of marijuana in an undercover operation along with two other drug buys in another location. The homes of the two men were also searched in which marijuana, drug packaging materials, and large sums of cash were seized. The men are now facing multiple charges involving illegal drugs and weapons sales. Their criminal cases are pending.
