Woman Charged With Obstructing A Police Officer
In the early hours of the morning on Sunday, May 22nd, police investigated a disturbance and were given false information by a suspect whom they later arrested. She has been charged with obstructing an officer in the execution.
The police report does not give many details about the exact nature of the incident that first attracted police attention to the Company Street residence, but it is known that multiple officers were called in to investigate. When they arrived on the scene, they witnessed a car driving out of the residence in question. A law enforcement officer decided to pull the vehicle over and question the driver in the hopes that she would have information pertinent to the events of the morning. According to the report, after being stopped by the officer, the 28-year old woman gave him false information, using her roommates name and identity. It was determined that she had no knowledge of or involvement in the incident, and the policeman let her go free.
Police Waits For Woman Near Home
After continuing the investigation further, the officer realized that the woman he had spoken with earlier was not in fact who she had claimed to be. He discovered her real name and the nature of the deception, and learned that she had used her roommates name because she was currently wanted by police for a minor unrelated offense. She was also driving on a suspended license.
The officer staked out a traffic post near her home and waited for her to return home. She was spotted on her way to the house and promptly stopped. After being pulled over, the woman was arrested for the warrant and charged with obstructing the police and driving on a suspended license.
