Three San Francisco area men were arrested and charged with 10 counts for alleged felony offenses. The three men, all in their early 20s, came to the attention of police after an incident that occurred in late December. Two teens (both under 18) had boarded a Muni bus at the stop at Fourth St. and Mission St. when they said the three suspects boarded with them. The teens went to the back of the bus where they say they were soon after approached by three men who demanded what was in their pockets. The men then patted down the teens looking for anything else of value that they had on them. The three men reportedly exited the bus at a stop immediately following the robbery.
The teens reported the robbery to Muni officials who then reviewed surveillance videos of the incident as well as video at locations near where the three robbers got off of the bus. Muni officers brought video to SFPD which showed three men dividing items among them which appeared to be the property reported stolen by the teens. Police used the surveillance footage and arrested three suspects—D.A., L.T., and C.T.—within days of the robbery. They were charged with 10 felony counts for robbery and child endangerment since the alleged victims were minors. Have you been charged with a theft crime in San Francisco? Theft crime charges can bring harsh penalties if energetic prosecutors are able to obtain a conviction. Charges such as robbery can mean substantially stiffer punishment than other theft offense convictions such as those for shoplifting or burglary. Since robbery includes the use of force, weapons or the threat of physical harm the penalties can include very expensive fines and many years in prison.
