Two men in their early 20s are facing charges stemming from the alleged kidnapping, assault and rape of two homeless women on the same day. Both men, 21-year-old B.R. and 20-year-old B.A., are transients themselves and have criminal records. B.R. had a pending charge against him for shoplifting a pair of shoes and also has convictions for theft crimes and felon in possession of a firearm. He reportedly admitted to being a habitual user of marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine. The second man, B.A., was convicted in 2011 of arson in a case involving several cars that were set on fire. His records show that he has been part of the foster care system on and off since he was nine years old. The two were indicted on nine counts each in the sexual assault of a 44-year-old woman and another woman, 27. The men are accused of first assaulting the 44-year-old woman and inflicting contusions and lacerations to her face and chest. The 21-year-old woman reported that she had been raped by the two men about an hour after the first woman. She stated that she had met the two men on the street earlier that day and was attacked that night. She suffered more severe injuries to her head, wrist and hand that were allegedly caused by being hit with a metal wrench. Specific charges include third degree assault, second degree assault, first degree kidnapping, first degree sodomy and first degree rape.
