Boy Killed in Golf Cart Accident

A 10-year-old boy was killed recently when the golf cart he was riding in overturned. The boy, M.M., was riding in a modified golf cart being driven by an adult in Beverly Park. There was an adult and two other young boys in the cart at the time of the incident. The exact modifications to the cart were not detailed but it reportedly could travel faster than a typical golf cart. The cart fell over while it was being driven and caused the 10-year-old to fall out. The cart then landed on top of him and caused severe head trauma. Emergency services were called to the accident location and the boy was taken by ambulance to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in grave condition. Unfortunately, he died at the hospital at 4:40 p.m. Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department's Abused Child Unit are looking into the accident to determine exactly how the tragic accident came about.
