Two men with an East LA boot camp were arrested recently after allegations arose involving the physical abuse of 11 teens. The two instructors, E.A age 36 and R.R. age 21, worked at a boot camp which was meant to help instill core values in troubled teens. Those that attended the camp ranged in age anywhere from 12 to 17 years old and were supposedly in trouble at school, involved in drugs, displayed violent behavior or severe disrespect to their parents. The parents would contact the camp, pay money and then have their troubled teen "kidnapped" in the middle of the night and taken to the camp. Allegations against the two instructors came up when a teen was sent to the hospital from the camp after suffering serious internal injuries. An investigation into the camp was conducted and 11 juveniles, boys and girls, reported that the two men had been hitting and kicking them during the course of the program. One of the girls also accused E.A. of touching her in an inappropriate manner. The investigation is being continued but the D.A.'s Office felt they had enough evidence to arrest the two men on suspicion of abuse. E.A. has been charged with three counts of causing great bodily injury on a child (a felony), felony sexual battery and felony corporal injury on a child. R.R. was charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery. E.A. remains in jail in lieu of nearly $500,000 bail while R.R. was released on bail.
