A man alleged to have burglarized a home and severely beaten the 80-year-old woman living there has been charged with three felony offenses. A.J., 49 years old, was arrested in connection to a recent robbery that occurred in South Pasadena. He has been charged with residential burglary, robbery and kidnapping by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. It is alleged that A.J. entered the senior citizen's home through an unlocked door and asked to use an outlet to charge his cell phone. The resident said he pulled a knife on her and threatened to kill her after she told him to get out. Reports say that A.J. then proceeded to beat the woman in the face and kept her with him as he searched different rooms in the house for valuables. The woman's family came into the home just as he was allegedly tying her up and continuing to beat her. He then fled the home with several items of jewelry. Police were contacted and A.J. was taken into custody shortly afterward. Arrested or charged with a theft crime in the Los Angeles area?
