A man and a woman were arrested in connection to thefts that occurred at three different locations. The couple chose to shoplift from retailers belonging to a well-known national department store chain in the local area. Security at the three stores noticed the pair acting suspiciously. They were seen moving about the jewelry department, picking up items and then hiding them on their persons. They removed the items from their boxes, tore off tags, etc. so as to avoid any security alarm devices. The couple then left the store without paying for the jewelry. At another location, a security guard observed the man, D.F., acting suspiciously and appearing to serve as lookout while the woman, H.B., attempted to steal more jewelry. Security personnel detained the 24-year-old woman and contacted the police. The man left the store once H.B. was approached by the security guard. H.B. was taken into custody at once while D.F. was arrested a short time later when he returned to the store.
