Charges were recently filed against a 27-year-old man, T.O., in an incident involving alleged drunk driving and a hit and run that occurred last year. Police reports state that a friend of the Everett man said that T.O. had consumed about 10 shots of vodka earlier in the day of the incident before they went to a bar in Marysville. The same witness said that T.O. went on to consume two 24-ounce beers at the bar. Reports state that the man got into a fight with a two other patrons at the bar and then he was taken out of the location into the parking lot. An employee at the tavern told T.O. that a cab could be called to pick him up but the man refused. He drove away with his friend to a nearby fast food drive-thru. Employees at the restaurant said the man appeared drunk and had trouble navigating the drive-thru lane. Other witnesses reported seeing T.O.'s car nearly collide with other cars. T.O. was allegedly travelling down a roadway where two pedestrians and a bicyclist were together on the shoulder. The small group of young men on the shoulder was friends, ages 18, 20 and 21. It is suspected that T.O. collided with the three individuals shortly after leaving the fast food restaurant. A witness says the car that hit the pedestrians came to a stop afterwards and then a passenger got out and looked at what happened. Once he saw it, the witness says he heard the male passenger swear and then get back into the car. The car sped off from the scene. The three men suffered severe injuries including multiple broken bones and severe head trauma. The 18-year-old died at the scene and the other two are still recovering from their critical injuries. Police tracked down the car and arrested T.O. A blood test was conducted and it was found that he had a BAC of 0.24%. T.O. was charged on Thursday with multiple felonies relating to the incident.
