An attorney from San Ramon recently pled not guilty to felony charges connected to an accident that occurred in Dublin. 57-year-old B.H. was riding or possibly walking his bicycle around 11:30 at night on a road with two lanes for each direction. He was at the side of the right-most lane when he was struck from behind. The driver of the car that hit B.H. did not stop but continued traveling down the road. B.H was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency workers and police arrived. Police found parts of the car that allegedly hit the cyclist at the scene. Investigators were able to identify the year, make and model of the vehicle involved in the accident from the parts and then obtained a court order for release of buyer info from local dealerships. Officers arrived at the attorney's home in the course of their investigation and discovered that his 2012 black Mercedes had sustained damage to the windshield and front end and was missing the same parts that were found at the scene. The 32-year-old attorney, S.S., admitted freely that he had been involved in an accident but pled not guilty to the charges. Police stated that cell phone records as well as video surveillance show that S.S. was driving in the area of the accident.
