Woman Dies Two Days after Alleged Domestic Incident
The incident that police suspect A.M. was involved in occurred in August of last year. Police responding to a domestic violence call arrived to find A.M.'s wife and two children, ages nine and five, at the home. The wife, 40 years old, had suffered several injuries including trauma to her head, neck and abdomen. Police tried to talk to the woman to find out what had occurred but her speech was reportedly slurred and she was not able to explain the circumstances. Police were able to find out that she had received the injuries two days before the call to police was made. Investigators spoke with the couple's nine-year-old daughter who was at the home during the alleged attack. She told authorities that her mom had been hit with a number of things from around the house including a vacuum cleaner. A.M.'s wife was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of a severe brain injury as well as other injuries. She died of her injuries about two weeks afterwards. Police did have been unable to locate A.M. throughout the investigation. A warrant for his arrest was issued in early February but authorities have still not been able to find the man. He faces the possibility of serious charges for murder or manslaughter.
