Robbery Suspect Uses 8-Inch Sausage as Weapon

A 22-year-old man in Fresno, Calif. has been arrested for breaking into a home. Lt. Ian Burrimond of the Fresno County Sheriff's Department said it was one of the strangest burglary cases he has ever heard of. After breaking into a home in Fresno, the defendant, Antonio Vasquez, rubbed spices over the body of a man sleeping in the home. He then used an 8-inch sausage to whack another man in the head and face before he ran from the home.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Department found Vasquez hiding in a nearby field a few minutes later. He was arrested and taken into custody on suspension of robbery.

According to Burrimond, when Vasquez fled the home he discarded the sausage. The sausage has since been eaten by the dog. "That's right, the dog at the weapon," said Burrimond.
