An undercover operation led to the arrest of two sheriff's deputies. According to a Justice Department statement the two men, R.S. and V.C., were employed by the sheriff's office at the time of the bust. Investigators were looking into a drug trafficking operation and discovered that R.S. and V.C. were involved. The deputies allegedly used a patrol car to hide over 20 pounds of cocaine. The plan was to bring the drugs from southern Texas to a location further north. Federal agents brought evidence to the county sheriff that the two deputies worked under that showed that V.C. and R.S. had been part of a drug smuggling operation. The sheriff then dismissed the two men. R.S. was taken into custody and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the other man. They have been indicted on federal conspiracy charges for drug trafficking. Don't hesitate to speak with a drug crime attorney if you have been investigated for or charged with a federal drug crime.
