You may have seen the 2002 movie "Catch Me if You Can." What you may not have known was that this movie was based on the actual true story of a man named Frank Abagnale who was convicted of check fraud in 1969.
Prior to his arrest, Frank travelled the globe posing as various professionals including a pediatrician, college professor, airline pilot and even an attorney. He managed to pass $2.5 million dollars worth of bad checks in all 52 states in the U.S. as well as in 26 different countries. After his five year prison term, Abagnale was released on the condition that he would help federal officials combat the exact same type of crimes that he had perpetrated.
Over the past 30 years his fraud prevention programs have been utilized by over 14,000 corporations, financial institutions and law enforcement agencies. He is now considered one of the foremost authorities on secure documents and how to combat forgery and embezzlement.
