Woman Falsely Arrested for Drug Possession

A local couple has been arrested under suspicion of planting drugs in the vehicle of a woman, K.P., who is the PTA (parent teacher association) president at the school that their son attends. The couple, both in their late thirties and both lawyers, are members of the PTA of their son's school and had reportedly had various issues with K.P. in the past. The incident occurred when police received a call from someone claiming that they saw someone driving recklessly and then parked at the school. The car the caller reported was K.P.'s. Officers arrived and did a search of the car. They found a stash of Vicodin and marijuana and then searched out K.P., who was volunteering at the school, and detained her. Police started to question the incident when facts didn't seem to add up and K.P. was clearly shocked at the drug find. Authorities began to investigate the case and the call that led them to the car when evidence began to point to the couple, K.E. and J.E. The two had attempted two other legal actions against K.P. in the past: they once sued her for accidentally locking their son out of the school for a little over 15 minutes (the case was dismissed) and then they attempted to have a restraining order placed on the woman which was denied. They were charged recently for conspiracy to falsely report a crime, false arrest and false imprisonment. If convicted of the full charges the couple could receive three years in prison and be ordered to pay substantial fines, fees and restitution.
