Police have asked for the public's help in identifying two men who are suspected of physically assaulting and robbing a woman recently. The incident happened at about 11:30 at night when a 19-year-old woman was going to her apartment from her car. She was walking through the somewhat large apartment complex on Beverly Plaza and talking on her cell phone when she was approached by a man she didn't know. She spoke with the man briefly and then a second man came up to her and struck her several times. She fell to the ground and was rendered unconscious. She discovered upon coming to that her phone had been taken. The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment of multiple injuries to her face. The incident was reported to police and others in the apartment complex reported seeing a pair of men in their early 20s wandering around the property that evening. None of the residents who spoke with police recognized the men as anyone who either lived in the complex or had previously visited anyone there. A sketch artist produced likenesses of the two suspects based on witness accounts and a description by the victim. No arrests have been made as yet but the sketches of the suspects have been given to media and other public information outlets. Theft offenses such as robbery are severely punished so it is important that you get the help of a criminal defense attorney immediately if you have been accused of armed robbery, burglary, carjacking, shoplifting or other theft crime.
