In Orlando, Florida, according to police, former 1980's breakthrough female boxer Christy Martin, was brutally attacked by her husband and former trainer James Martin on November 23rd. Police allege James Martin shot and stabbed his wife Christy Martin after a quarrel - at their home in Apopka. After the violent attack, Christy managed to make it outside where she flagged down a passerby. She later told the investigators that it was her husband who had attacked her.
James Martin was found by police, hiding in a nearby shed with what were apparently, self-inflicted stab wounds. An Orange County judge denied bond to James Martin, who had been moved from an Orlando Hospital to the Orange County Jail, after recovering from his self-inflicted stab wounds.
According to records released by the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the fight began after Christy Martin announced to her husband that she was leaving him for another woman. James is now facing attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges in the November 23rd attack of his wife.
