Local Man Charged with Prescription Drug Crime

A 23-year-old Danbury man was arrested recently after being pulled over by police for a traffic offense. At around 1:30 in the morning J.B. was pulled over while driving a late model SUV. Police discovered that he was driving on a suspended license. The man's driving license had in fact been suspended a total of seven times. The suspensions were ordered due to multiple failure to answer summons and unpaid fines. After J.B. was taken into custody and his vehicle impounded, a search revealed nearly 500 prescription drug tablets that had been stashed in various hidden compartments and locations in the vehicle. The majority of the drugs were oxycodone tablets which authorities estimate has about a $15,000 street value.
