Actor Shia LaBeouf Charged with Criminal Trespass, Disorderly Conduct & Harassment

While watching a Broadway show, actor Shia LaBeouf yelled "loudly at the actors onstage," lit up a cigarette, and then refused to leave, according to CNN and other media outlets. After being escorted out by a police officer that endured more of LaBeouf's ranting, he was formally charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and harassment.

LaBeouf, known for his starring role in three of the "Transformer" films – the latest film in the series was released this summer stars actor Mark Wahlberg – was reportedly drunk during New York's Studio 54 theater's production of "Cabaret."

Being led out in handcuffs he allegedly told the officer, "F--- you. This is f---ing bull---. Do you know my life? Do you know who the f--- I am? Do you know who I am?" On June 27 in a Manhattan court, LaBeouf, was released on his own recognizance. A legal aid lawyer had represented him during the proceedings.

A prosecutor argued against LaBeouf's release, stating that the actor should not be let off without bail. LaBeouf's attorney argued that if his client failed to report to court on July 24 there would be a tremendous amount of media attention. As LaBeouf exited the courtroom, he was trailed by both reporters and photographers for several blocks.

According to reporters, the incident in the Studio 54 theatre began when LaBeouf interrupted the live show by yelling at the actors during their performance. He was asked to leave the theatre and he refused. Two women that spoke to the press thought LaBeouf was acting. His shirt was torn, he staggered around and acted up with other patrons in the theater bar. One commented, "He was brilliant. Didn't know if he was drunk…he was quite a mess…I thought he was working on a role or something."

In the theater bar, LaBeouf allegedly handfed a strawberry to a female guest and then tipped a bartender. Once in the police station, LaBeouf continued his bad boy behavior by spitting in the direction of one of the officers and continuing to yell profanities. He was kept overnight in jail. Earlier this year, LaBeouf apologized for several things during a performance art exhibit. He titled the show #IAMSORRY and wore a paper bag over his head while he spoke.

LaBeouf was in the news before for allegedly plagiarizing another's work in a short film he made. He apologized to the author who accused him of plagiarizing, and the author may be seeking legal action. On LaBeouf's twitter feed he issued several apologies; however, they are allegedly retweets from others according to CNN.

LaBeouf hit stardom in a Disney series called "Even Stevens" when he was 14 years old. His next film due to be released, "Fury," also stars Brad Pitt.
