Homosexual Affair Ends in Beating, Mutilation and Death

A young Portuguese male model ended his homosexual relationship with a popular television personality in a beating and castration that caused the older man's death, and as reported by the Associated Press for Yahoo News and others, he has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

In 2011 R.S., 23 killed C.C., 65, when the older man allegedly tried to break up with him. R.S. retaliated by first choking C.C.; he then bludgeoned and castrated him in a New York City hotel room.

R.S. had entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity and his defense team argued that their client was mentally ill. He was convicted this past November.

At his sentencing R.S. told C.C.'s family members he was sorry. R.S. further stated, "At the moment I went into the room that day, something took power over me. We used to fight each other but always playfully. I was never aggressive before. I never had any fight with (C.C.). On that day, I don't know what took over me."

Prosecutors successfully argued that the two men had been engaged in a sexual relationship, however, when C.C. chose to end things R.S. saw it as the end of his meal ticket and was afraid he would loose all of the chances he had of becoming famous and acquiring a fortune.

This fear, according to prosecutors, is what triggered R.S. to brutally kill C.C.

R.S.'s previous brush with fame was getting a modeling contract after appearing on a television show called "A Procura Do Sonho", which translated means "Pursuit of a Dream."

During the trial, R.S. had claimed to be a heterosexual that only engaged in sex with C.C. for his own gains.

His attorneys had argued that R.S. had a psychotic break with reality and that was the only reason he had killed C.C. R.S.'s attorneys further claimed that the psychotic break caused R.S. to think that it was a message from God telling him that he must kill C.C. to rid himself of the devil of homosexuality.

C.C. was known in Portugal as a TV personality and writer. In reading a statement prepared by his family, Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Maxine Rosenthal said C.C. was a talented wordsmith, had a host of high-profile friends, loved to travel, and loved New York the most. Rosenthal read, "The other person could have stopped after the first insult. Or before the first punch. Or after (C.C.) lost consciousness. Help could have been called and his life saved. But no ... the beating continued and ended with a horrific mutilation."

R.S. admitted to police that after the two had an argument he had stabbed C.C. in his face and groin area with a corkscrew, slammed a computer monitor down onto his head and stomped on his face.

R.S. then took a shower in the hotel room, disabled the phone in the room and stole $1,600 from the dead man's wallet. After leaving the hotel room he walked aimlessly through the city and then finally hailed a taxi to take him to a hospital.
