Elaborate Bank Robbery Involves Strapping Bomb to Victim

For a bank manager at a Los Angeles Bank of America, September 5th became a day that she would always remember. The woman walked out of her house to head to her place of employment, when she was snatched by masked gunmen. The men held her down while they strapped a detonator to her abdomen. Wearing a suspected ticking time bomb, the woman was told that she needed to go into a bank and take out all the money. She was to give all the money to the criminals, or they said that they would detonate the bomb, blowing her and the entire bank to pieces. The terrifying instance was more than the bank manager could bear, so she drove to her office and assisted in the robbery like she had been told to do.

Supposedly, she and other employees tossed cash to the men who were waiting outside. She also went into the safe to get more cash when they weren’t satisfied. The bank robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of money, but no one was injured in the robbery. Eventually, the woman discovered that the “bomb” she was wearing was a fake. A bomb squad carefully disabled the alleged explosive, only to discover that it was a fraud. Nearby businesses were evacuated while they tried to disable the device, just as a precaution.

Investigators are still not sure whether the woman knew the robbers, because of their disguises. The police are searching for video surveillance that would have caught the incident and could help them to piece together evidence and catch the robbers.
