17 Years of Jail Time for Man Who Prostituted Minors

In Santa Ana, California, it is reported that a man was sentenced with 17.5 in federal prison.  The man, Dwayne Lawson, faced prosecution for prostituting two Florida teenage girls across the country.

On Thursday, Lawson pled guilty to one count of sex trafficking of children.  The plea was a result of an agreement he reached with prosecutors.

Authorities say that Lawson was placed under arrest in April 2009.  His arrest happened after police caught a 17 year old girl engaged in prostitution.  According to federal prosecutors, Lawson reached out to the girl on MySpace in 2008.  He promised to make her a star and bought her a bus ticket from Florida to Las Vegas.  However, Lawson later admitted that he had the girl work as a prostitute in Orange County.  The second girl was from Miami and was forced to engage in commercial sex acts.
