Indiana Rape Suspect Sketch Released

In Bloomington, Indiana, police recently released a sketch of a suspect who allegedly raped a woman near the Indiana University campus.  The rape occurred this past Saturday in a home located on the 1200 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

The victim of the sex crime, who is not a student of the University, told police officers that she had become separated from her friends and family while attending the Purdue game.  While walking alone, the suspect told her that her friends were at a party on Woodlawn Avenue.  She followed him to the residence and once they were there, he pulled her into the basement and sexually assaulted her.

According to police, the suspect is about 20 years of age.  He has medium brown hair and a buzz cut.  On Saturday, he was wearing a Purdue coat, but he told the victim that he was not a Purdue student.  Police say that his first name may be "Ron".

Captain Jerry Minger of the Indiana University Police said that when officers investigated the scene of the crime, "the residents were fully co-operative, letting detectives check the premises. They confirmed a person of interest and we're working to confirm his identity."
