San Jose Police Find 5 Pounds of Marijuana in Truck during DUI Arrest

In San Jose, the California Highway Patrol arrested David Lee Thomas, 39, for driving under the influence (DUI) yesterday.  While making their DUI traffic stop, police conducted a search of the man's truck and discovered that he was in possession of over 5 pounds of marijuana.

Officers decided to stop the man after they noticed that his Toyota Tundra was weaving in between traffic lanes.  The DUI offender is reported to have been heading south on Highway 101 at approximately 2:45 AM.  He was stopped by law enforcement at the East Washington Street offramp.

Shortly after their search and brief questioning, the CHP officers arrested Mr. Thomas for DUI.  The large amounts of marijuana they discovered had been hidden in a plastic tub in the back of his Toyota.

Mr. Thomas was charged with multiple DUI and drug related offenses, including driving under the influence, possession of marijuana for sale and transportation for sales.
