Labor Day DUI Arrests Increase in California

According to the California Highway Patrol, over 1,400 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence during the three day weekend, an increase from Labor Day, 2007. The increase of drunk driving arrests stems from a crackdown on drunk driving in the State of California.

While DUI arrests were up, the number of people who were killed in traffic accidents dropped to nearly half of what they were in 2007.

The maximum enforcement for DUI in California ends at midnight tonight.
