Police Respond to Severe Domestic Violence Incident

A severe domestic violence incident ended in the fatal shooting of a man by Los Angeles Police officers. Authorities were called to a home on South Normandie at about 9:30 in the morning when neighbors reported hearing screaming next door. One neighbor said the woman next door was heard screaming "Help, help, I've been shot!" Officers arrived to find a man in his 70s standing in the backyard of the property. He had a handgun and refused to obey the officers' instructions. The confrontation escalated and officers were forced to open fire. The man was killed.
