Houston police recently took three individuals into custody after an undercover sting was conducted at a local massage parlor. An undercover officer posing as a customer coming to the parlor for a massage reported that he was offered oral sex by the 22-year-old masseuse for $80.00. At that point, the woman was taken into custody and questioned by police. The masseuse, as well as two other women suspected of being part of the prostitution side of the business, described how they found the job and who hired them. A 38-year-old man, J.S., and a woman, M.L., also 38 years old, were subsequently arrested on aggravated promotion of prostitution. They are accused of having posted advertisements on a site on the internet for jobs at the massage parlor and then explicitly detailing what was required of the women when they arrived to inquire about the job. Reports say that women were told to charge for rub downs and sex acts and that they could keep anything over $50 that they made from each customer. The $50 they were to pay to J.S. was placed in a small mailbox hidden behind a television at the location. J.S. and M.L. would then regularly pick up the cash. You need strong legal help immediately if you have been charged with a sex offense so speak with a criminal defense attorney right away.
The 22-year-old arrested in the incident told investigators that she was instructed at the job interview that if she were to take the job all the ladies were expected to perform any sexual act requested by a customer. She was charged with prostitution, non-public offer which is a misdemeanor offense. J.S. and M.L. could be facing serious penalties of imprisonment and steep fines for the felony charges they are facing.
