Scranton police officers took a 38-year-old homeless man, W.A, into custody recently for multiple drug crime charges including possession. Neighbors reported the man to police after seeing him go in and out of an abandoned house. The witness that called in also said the man was seen going up to cars that stopped in front of the house and doing apparent drug deals. Police came to the location and searched the home. W.A. was not at home at the time but two stashes of drugs were found. A thermos was found that contained over 100 bags of heroin and officers discovered 17 bags of crack cocaine hidden in a bag of rice up in the kitchen ceiling. The officers seized the drugs and but left everything else at the house exactly how they found it and kept watch for the homeless man to return.
