A woman and three men were arrested recently after an incident which put one of the men in the hospital with gunshot wounds. The incident began at about 8:30 pm at the home of a 54-year-old disabled San Antonio man. R.H. told SAPD that he heard loud banging on his door and recognized the voice of a teen who was yelling for him to come outside. He looked out a window facing his front porch and says he saw the 19-year-old with two other men continue to bang on the door and yelling for him to open up. The teen had allegedly had several run-ins with R.H. and his son, one such incident having occurred just days before. R.H. said he was afraid for his life so he got his shotgun and aimed it through the window at the three men on his porch. He fired a single round of No. 8 birdshot and the three men ran away and got into a car with a woman behind the wheel. One of the men, 23 years old, required hospitalization for treatment of his shotgun injuries. R.H. had called police who located the group at the hospital. The car was searched and a set of brass knuckles as well as two knives were found. The woman and three men were arrested (the 23-year-old after his release from medical care) and charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault, a felony offense. Make sure you consult with a knowledgeable criminal defense attorney about what may be done to fight your charges.
About Burglary Charges
Burglary is often a felony offense that can be charged if any part of an individual's body enters another person's property without permission and with the intent to commit a crime. Prosecutors must prove that there was intent to commit a crime such as theft or assault. A conviction can mean expensive fines and many years behind bars.
