A 45-year-old Brevard County woman who tortured and murdered her housekeeper in 2005 has just been sentenced to death row. She will be the third woman on death row and will be processed out of Brevard County jail and into state prison. She was originally arrested for the crime in 2005 and convicted this past fall for torturing, kidnapping and murdering her housekeeper who she thought had stolen money from her purse.
It was reported that the housekeeper was tortured for hours before being strangled to death with a belt. The convicted woman's roommate and nephew are serving time now as well for helping her cover up the crime and assisting her in burying the housekeeper's body in a shallow grave. The victim's husband made a comment that he is going to be careful in how he tells their two children who are in elementary school what happened to their mother. He was concerned about them having nightmares and decided to tell them in as simple a way possible that justice has been served.
