Sex Offenders Arrested for Holiday Decorations

Los Angeles County officials recently released information regarding an operation to catch any convicted sex offenders that were in violation of their probation during the Halloween holiday. By state law, sex offenders are required to remain in their homes with exterior lights off and curtains drawn starting at 5pm Halloween night and continuing till 5am the next morning. They are also prohibited from handing out candy or having any decorations that may attract the attention of children. In the four-day sweep conducted by 40 probation officers this Halloween, 251 homes were searched. 122 of the residences were in compliance.

Five Sex Offenders on Probation Arrested

Five of the probationers were arrested in the sweep with only three being actually taken into custody. One of the individuals was found to have a hidden trap door in the floor of his bedroom. The door went down to the basement where a chair and rope were found. The other two that were arrested were a married couple who were found in possession of child porn, drugs, and had decorations up for Halloween.
