Mother Facing Criminal Charges after Allowing Underage Drinking

A Palm Beach Shores woman is facing several criminal charges stemming from a house party in which she drank alcohol along with 26 minors, including her underage son, while her younger 7 year-old son was locked in a separate room, as reported by the Huffington Post.

K.K., 39, told reporters that she plans to fight charges that include making a false report, resisting an officer, cruelty toward a child and 26 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Officers claim that when they arrived on scene to break up the underage drinking party in a Palm Beach Shores condo, they faced a drunken K.K. and unruly teenagers that had barricaded the front door.

Once they gained access police noted beer and liquor bottles strewn across the condo floor and a 16 year-old girl choking on her own vomit in a restroom. The sick teen was taken to St. Mary's Hospital.

The Palm Beach Shores Police Department reported that K.K.'s 7 year-old son was locked in a room during the party and they had to kick in the door to get him out.

The party included a total of 26 underage drinkers.

Police stated that K.K. was so drunk that she urinated on herself – which prompted them to contact the Department of Children and Families Emergency Hotline.

K.K. told reporters "I don't drink" and denied all of the charges.

Palm Beach Shores Police Lt. S.L. commented, "When you have alcohol and kids, nothing good comes from it. They're looking for adults to make decisions and it's unfortunate that a woman would bring that many kids to her home. The adults are supposed to take care of the kids."

Police were called to the condominium complex when neighbors reported a possible fight amongst a large group of people outdoors. Once they arrived, the police were told that there was a small child in the condo. Officers then looked above to K.K.'s balcony.

On the balcony young men were seen throwing bottles into a cardboard box. Officers called up to them to stop and to come outside, however, the partygoers simply went inside and closed up all the doors and blinds.

The building manager, accompanied by two officers, then climbed the stairs to K.K.'s apartment. The manager told police that he had trouble with K.K. in the past – for disturbing other residents with her parties.

Once an officer reached K.K.'s door he told the partygoers that he had to check on the child that they had received the report on. After 20 minutes an angry K.K. came out and "was immediately jerked backward when unknown male individuals hiding behind the door pulled her into the hallway and slammed the door shut."

The door was then barricaded from the inside and the officers called for backup. Officers were eventually able to open the door and several of the teens tried to run away. Of the 26 they were able to collect, most were between the ages of 14 and 17 and "blatantly disrespectful."

K.K. was booked into Palm Beach County Jail and later released on a $8,000 bail.
