Porn Star Arrested for Dismembering Lover and Mailing Body Parts

It is one of the most talked about crimes of the year. A Canadian porn actor named Luke Magnotta was reading about himself in an Internet café in Berlin, Germany, when police rushed into the building and handcuffed him. The adult-film actor is suspected to be the criminal who murdered a Chinese student and sent his body parts to Canadian political officials. Supposedly the victim was Magnotta's boyfriend. Magnotta posted the video of the murder online. It shows a naked and bound Chinese man, whom Magnotta stabs repeatedly with an ice pick. Once the bound victim in the video is dead, Magnotta dismembers the body and perform sexual acts with the corpse. The police say that the video is "horrifying."
Before he committed his grand scheme, Magnotta uploaded videos of himself torturing kittens onto the Internet. This initial, gruesome act already had Magnotta on police radars, but his murder and mailing ploy only heightened the urgency to put him behind bars. Magnotta had been reading about himself for over two hours before the police came to take him away. A café employee allegedly recognized Magnotta from the newspaper and flagged down a roving police car. The criminal was confronted by seven officers, and tried giving fake names when he was questioned. Eventually, he stopped battling and simple said "You got me."
This bizarre case is only one of the many arrests that are made every day. While there are times that a well-deserved murderer is captured and put behind bars, there are also times that someone who is innocent is arrested on accident. Maybe you were mistaken for another criminal, or you were caught in a miscommunication that led to your arrest. Whatever the situation, you may need to talk to a criminal defense lawyer if you are in a situation where you are being unjustly accused.
