Police try to Track Down Lawn Fertilizer Thieves in Palmdale

Thieves have stolen a lot of obscure objects, but a recent pair of criminals made headlines when they made off with 50 bags of lawn fertilizer. The Best Turf Supreme fertilizer was loaded onto a large truck and bused north. Police think that the men probably want to resell the fertilizer for profit, and want the public to be wary of anyone selling the compost at a garage sale, swap meet, or another unlicensed venue.
The cops are currently searching Palmdale for the thieves who they believe are hiding in the city. Each bag of fertilizer can sell for up to $50 at various stores, meaning that the thieves have up to $1,500 worth of manure compost in their truck. City officials want their fertilizer, which was paid for with taxpayers’ dollars, to be returned so that they can continue their projects and place the thieves in custody.
The stinky theft could send the criminals to prison with charges of petty theft. This is the offense that is issued to people who steal, take, carry, lead, or drive away with the personal property of another person. According to The Antelope Valley Times, the incident happened at Pelona Vista Park where the fertilizer was stacked as part of a construction and landscaping project at the city park.
The gardening supplied and bags of mulch were in a small storage, but it was easy enough for criminals to break in and take the bags. The theft most likely occurred on July 16th or 17th but police are not exactly sure of the timing.
