Laptop Theft Causes Rehabilitation Center Concern

Information contained on the laptop includes patient names, medical information and dates of birth, according to Michael Wilson, a spokesman for the county Department of Health Services. Since the laptop was not encrypted the information will be easily accessible to whoever stole it.

Staff members were alerted to its absence on Feb. 24 and letters have since then been mailed out to patients whose information could now be at large. This theft crime has forced the hospital to review its portable device and how best to prevent theft crimes like this from happened in the future.

Are you facing theft crime charges?  If you said "yes", now is the time to get a criminal defense attorney involved in your case.
