Another Craigslist crime is in the news today after two men robbed a man who thought he was going to buy an iPhone.
According to Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Kim, Daniel So, 19, and Garrett Helstrom, 20, were taken into custody on suspicion of robbing a man last week. The victim had agreed to pay $500 for the iPhone listed on Craigslist but was robbed instead at the arranged meeting point behind a Carl's Jr. Restaurant. The victim reports So pulling out an automatic pistol, grabbing the victim's cash and fleeing on foot.
Upon investigating the incident deputies found a replica of a semi-automatic handgun as well as suspected stolen goods in Helstrom's vehicle. Both suspects are currently being held on $100,000 bail.
