An Arkansas developer has reportedly been arrested after being accused of defrauding buyers of property at a subdivision. According to reports, Wayne Watkins was arrested on a 2007 warrant that charges him with theft by deception. Watkins reportedly collected down payments from people who bought lots in the Spring River Beach Club, but the contracts reportedly allowed him to automatically withdraw monthly payments from their bank accounts. However, the land was eventually seized and the money the people paid disappeared as did their legal claim.
