SWAT Team Arrests Man for Theft and Hit and Run

In Monrovia, police report that the driver of a stolen vehicle was arrested after a four-hour standoff with SWAT officers on Friday. 26-year-old parolee from Los Angeles, Ronnie Wilson, was taken into police custody and charged with hit and run, theft and evading a police officer.
Police say the incident started at 1:30 PM when an Arcadia officer spotted a driver and a Lexus that had been reported as stolen out of Los Angeles. The officer tried to stop the car, but the driver of the vehicle sped off and ran through several stop signs.
While speeding off, the driver hit two cars and then abandoned the Lexus near Fig Street. As officers arrived at the scene and sealed off the area, a resident reported that the driver had run into his house was hiding there.
The SWAT team arrives and after a long standoff that lasted most of the afternoon, SWAT officers entered the residence and placed Wilson under arrest.
