Jury Orders Death Penalty for Convicted Murderer

Norwalk, California, a man has been sentenced to death after being convicted of killing two people and blinding a third person during a fight over drug money.

On Friday, a Los Angeles County judge rejected an automatic motion to reduce the jury's death recommendation for the defendant, 33-year-old Mila Johnson.

In March, Johnson was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of mayhem.

In August 2006, Duane Bailey and Sonia Chandiramani were both killed inside of their Gardena home.  The third victim, Glen Enriquez, was permanently blinded and now relies upon the assistance of a guide dog.

The first jury remained deadlocked on Johnson's sentence and a second jury recommended the death penalty.
