Girlicious Singer Pleads Guilty to Drug Crimes

This week, a 21 year old singer and from the group Girlicious pled guilty to charges of felony possession of cocaine.  In March, police allegedly found more than a dozen small packages of cocaine in the singer's purse.

In April, Natalie Mejia entered a not guilty plea to one felony count of possession with intent to sell. However, she decided to change her plea on Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court after district attorneys offered her a deal that would require her to enroll in a substance abuse treatment program and stay out of trouble with the law for 18 months.

Shiara Dávila-Morales, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said, "Mejia must successfully complete the program to have her case dismissed."

If the singer violates the rules of the program, she could receive three years probation as well as a felony conviction on her criminal record.
