DUI Offender Causes Traffic Accident

A fatal traffic accident in Pascagoula, Mississippi resulted in a man being charged with felony DUI.  Police say that Christopher Harper, 24, of Tickfaw Louisiana, crashed his GMC Yukon into a Chevrolet Tracker on Highway 90 early Friday morning.

The driver of the Tracker, 53-year-old Angelia Laster of Gautier was trapped in the vehicle following the crash.  The Tracker soon caught fire and Laster died shortly after the blaze began. 

Also in the vehicle at the time of the accident was Laster's 34-year-old daughter, who was rescued from the vehicle.  Emergency responders brought the daughter to a local hospital where she is receiving treatment.

Christopher Harper is currently being held on a $300,000 bond at the Pascagoula City jail.
