Sweep in Los Angeles Leads to Arrest of 400 Sex Offenders

In Los Angeles, hundreds of sex offenders in the city that were in violation of their parole were rounded up by local law enforcement this past week. The efforts by police officers were part of a statewide sweep known as "Operation Safe Playgrounds."

According to authorities, the recent operation was a great success. Officers were able to arrest 400 sex offenders throughout the week alone that were violating the terms of their parole.

During the sweep, state, federal and local law enforcement agents work together to find convicted child molesters, rapists as well as other sex offenders that were considered a great risk to the public. It has been reported that Los Angeles County has the most sex offenders out of any other county in the state of California.
