Teenager Arrested for Violent Vehicle Chase

A case of jealousy and road rage have led to the arrest of a Detroit area man accused of chasing down his girlfriend and beating her. The incident occurred over the weekend when a 17-year-old male chased his 19-year-old girlfriend in his car, hitting her vehicle several times with his own vehicle.

Multiple witnesses called police to report the vehicle chase. After making several attempts to block her car, the woman was able to get around the male and drive away. Unrelenting in his pursuit, the male driver continued to follow the woman, swerving at her vehicle numerous times and even trying to force her vehicle off the road. The woman was eventually forced into an Applebee’s parking lot, but eventually ended up near a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant.

Several witnesses reported seeing the man get out of his vehicle and start yelling and beating on the window of the woman’s car until the window shattered. According to the witnesses, the man reached through the window and began hitting the woman. Eventually the man got inside her vehicle and was about to pull away when several good samaritans eating at the restaurant got in the way. The samaritans were able to hold the man until police arrived.

Police believe the man was angry with the woman for trying to break up with him. The man is currently in jail awaiting charges from the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
