A high school teacher in Michigan accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with a student could be sentenced to life in prison if she is found guilty of the charges.
According to Wayne County prosecutors, 45-year-old Virginia Ann Homberg participated in inappropriate conduct with a student from December 2007 until this year. She is also accused of sending the student sexually explicit pictures.
The student was between the ages of 14 and 16 during the affair.
Homberg was arraigned in a Garden City, Michigan district court yesterday, where she was formally charged with first-degree sexual conduct. If convicted, she faces up to life in prison.
