Jeweler Pleads Guilty to Sexual Battery

A jewelry store owner in Orange County, California has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery for inappropriately touching a young woman.
Prosecutors say Fereydoun Ghavami, 57, assaulted the victim when she came to his jewelry store to buy a gift for her mother. Ghavami offered to give the 18-year-old girl a free belly chain, prosecutors say. When he went to put the chain around her waist he slipped his hand down her pants.
The woman immediately left the store and called her family and the police.
Ghavami has been ordered to register as a sex offender and spend one year in jail.
