Armed Robbery Suspect Sought in Mesa, Arizona

Police detectives in Arizona are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a store in Mesa.

According to police, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt walked into the store, picked out several gift cards, and handed the cashier a note. The note said, “I have a weapon, act calm and ring up the gift cards for the amounts on them. If anybody comes in the store act normal.” The clerk rang up the eight gift cards and put them in a bag the suspect provided.

Before leaving the store the suspect asked for some cigarettes and told the cashier that she was being watched and to wait 10 minutes before calling anyone for help.

Facing Theft or Robbery Charges?

In every state armed robbery is charged as felony offense and carries heavy penalties upon conviction, including up to 40 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines. The penalties for armed robbery will be enhanced if the firearm was discharged, if the suspect used the firearm in commission of a felony, or if the suspect injured or killed someone with the firearm.

If you have been arrested on armed robbery charges, it’s important to contact a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Even a basic armed robbery conviction will land you in prison, stripping you of your rights and freedom. Protect yourself, your rights, and your future by obtaining the representation of an aggressive criminal defense lawyer to help you fight your charges.
