Pro Golfer Charged with Drug Possession

Iowa - recently, 26 year old Matthew Every was arrested at for possession of marijuana. Every, who is a PGA professional from the state of Florida, was arrested at the 2010 John Deere Classic.
According to Scott County court records, the golfer was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Police reports that they had been called to the hallway outside of a room at the Isle Casino Hotel because someone reported that there was a strong marijuana smell. Officers say that when the occupant of the room opened the door, the smell intensified.
One of the individuals in the room confessed to possessing marijuana and three others had admitted to smoking it. Shortly after, Every was booked into the Scott County Jail and released after he posted bond.
28 year old Derek Mason and 49 year old William Hicks were also arrested for drug possession.
