Looting Leads to 14 Felony Arrests

This week, three more people in Oakland, California were charged with felonies in connection with the looting that occurred downtown.  The raids occurred after former BART police Officer Johannes Mehserle was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for killing unarmed Oscar Grant III.

The individuals arrested were:  Andre Jackson (charged with felony receiving or possessing stolen property), Walter Hearnton (charged with felony burglary) and Rickey Reeves (charged with felony commercial burglary and felony possession of stolen property).

To date, the District Attorney's Office has arrested 14 people suspected of felony crimes during looting and demonstrations.

If you or someone you care for has been charged with a felony such as burglary, it is always a wise idea to seek legal counsel from a criminal defense attorney.  By working closely with a lawyer, it is well-known that people stand a better chance of fighting their criminal charges and moving on with their lives.
