A Fremont, California man has been sentenced to five years of community control due to a domestic violence matter. Ernesto Chavez will also have to pay court costs and be under electronic monitoring for 120 hours. Chavez was originally arrested after his girlfriend reported that he pushed her up against a wall, slapped her and hit her in the head. He also reportedly pulled her to the ground and kicked her. Chavez, as a result, pleaded guilty to a felony domestic violence charge.
